Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates// The colonists’ attack on UNRWA headquarters in the capital, Jerusalem, is part of the systematic crimes of the occupation*
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli colonists’ attack on the headquarters of UNRWA in the occupied capital, Jerusalem. It considered that this attack comes as part of the systematic and widespread crimes of the Israeli occupation and its various tools in the war of genocide that it is committing against the Palestinian people, and the systematic targeting of institutions that contribute to their steadfastness and the realization of their rights, most notably the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees (UNRWA), which works unparalleled in the sector. Gaza to protect the Palestinian people from deliberate starvation committed by the occupation there, in addition to the vital and pivotal role in the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that the systematic attacks by the colonialist militias must be confronted with strict measures from countries and institutions of the international community, and the effort that began to place the colonialists on international terrorism lists, hold them and the rest of the Israeli colonial occupation system accountable, and define tools to punish these terrorists and war criminals.
The Foreign Ministry indicated that these Israeli attacks against UNRWA, its headquarters, facilities, staff, and officials must stop, and that the international community must hold Israel responsible for the life and security of the organization and its employees, and take the necessary measures to hold it accountable for the destruction and targeting of UNRWA headquarters, including those in the Gaza Strip, and the killing of more than 188 of its employees.
The Foreign Ministry affirmed the State of Palestine’s absolute support for the vital work of UNRWA in all places of its operations, especially in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and that UNRWA cannot be replaced or its flag undermined, and that Palestinian diplomacy will do all its duties to mobilize the international community to protect The organization will fulfil its obligations until a just solution is achieved for the Palestinian refugees in implementation of Resolution 194, to return to their homes from which they were displaced.
